Squid Game 오징어 게임 is a 2021 South Korean survival drama television series streaming on Netflix. Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, it stars Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung. The series revolves around a contest in which 456 players, all drawn from different walks of life but each deeply in debt, play a series of children’s games with deadly penalties if they lose for the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion prize. About 38 Million US Dollars. Hwang had conceived of the idea based on his own economic struggles early in life as well as the class disparity in South Korea.

Seong Gi-hun, a divorced and indebted chauffeur, is invited to play a series of children’s games for a chance at a large cash prize. Accepting the offer, he is taken to an undisclosed location where he finds himself amongst 455 other players who are also deep in debt. The players are made to wear green athletic clothes and are kept under watch at all times by masked guards in pink jumpsuits, with the games overseen by the Front Man, who wears a black mask and black uniform. The players soon discover that losing a game results in their death, with each death adding ₩100 million to the potential ₩45.6 billion grand prize. Gi-hun allies with other players, including his childhood friend Cho Sang-woo, to try to survive the physical and psychological twists of the games.

  1. These fact are pretty weak. Some of the stuff you said was pretty self-explanatory and some of it was just bogus… The books about the painter Magritte would be foreshadowing for the Frontman's identity? C'mon

  2. One of the small points no one points out is that the only time Gi-Hun doesnt second guess his choice, (coin flip for the squid game) he gets the coin flip guess right. On top of that when he's asked offense or defense, he also confidently chooses offense and also wins from that choice too

  3. Knew it was the old guy, the games were old and he loved playing the first one.

  4. cried so hard in episode 6 man.. that one broke me

  5. does anyone else notice that the reward money is 45.6 billion and Gi-Hun's player number is 456?

  6. This series remember me sorta LOST when Jacob choose hopeless people.

  7. No one seems to have noted Gi Hun appears to turn away from the plane! It's obvious the people behind the games knew something he didn't, and he didn't want to risk falling into another trap, so turned back and didn't get on the plane.

  8. I am sorry. But how are these "Explained"… That's just rehashing ep 8.

  9. What i can say is that the Squid Game is more deadly than Hunger Game

  10. I cried so hard during the marble episode

  11. Honestly, the Jun-Ho and face reveal of the Frontman scene reminded me A LOT of the Amon/Noatak and Tarrlok revelation from Legend of Korra Book 1. The Frontman (much like Amon/Noatak) is the older brother and wears a mask to hide his face. The younger brothers (Jun-Ho and Tarrlok) confront their older brothers and other guards behind him in an isolated place and they try to attack their brothers with a move (Jun-Ho with his gun and Tarrlok using bloodbending), but the older brothers not being defeated from that. The only difference is that The Frontman (the older brother of Jun-Ho) being the one to kill him while in the Korra Book 1 finale, Tarrlok (the younger brother of Amon/Noatak) is the one to kill his brother while also him in the process.

  12. Alice in borderland and squid games are the best shows on Netflix

  13. 1988 was the South Korean Summer Olympic Games

  14. I bet you could pull this crap off and idiots with line up to be on that show. And the main ones would be Instagram, YouTube, ticktalkers, poor people, not the ones on the street they don't usually have phones so they can't stay in touch with the world that much then again they might have a phone then again a straight person might actually win. Don't forget when the government gets bored we're going to be the one to will play the contestants. I digress back to another movie, that I think Arnold Schwarzenegger played in it. Yep he had to run for his life. Cuz it's supposed to be killed and the more they tried to kill him the more the people clapped and applaused. Yeah I can see this in our near future.

  15. 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

  16. It was super duper obvious and predictable that The Front Man was going to be the cop’s brother.
We’ve seen that “twist” a billions times already.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this. South Korea has a a few gems!

  17. The paintings on the wall depicting what would happen to the contestants in the games is just like Midsommar where the pagan ceremonies and sacrifices were painted on the walls in the main dormitory.

  18. What if…after much research, the game finally come to America initiated by the NFFA in 2016 announce an experiment to take place on Staten Island where for 12 hours, citizens will be allowed to purge and release their inhibitions in any way they choose, including murder…

  19. I think it might be wrong to assume that Il-Nam knows the games since he has watched them over 30 years. He probably knows the games for that year because he created them for that year. As the VIPs mentioned about that year's Korean games it was the best of the other games implying there are other games in other countries, but also they didn't know about the bridge game or final squid game also suggest that year's games are different than the previous games.
And the art books also have VanGogh and Monet, which are impressionist and not that dark.

  20. Me the whole video: I SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT

  21. The frontman twist was way to easy to figure out. Kind of a let down in my opinion. Doesn’t make the show bad but any means. The show was great. I just wish the frontman twist was better.

  22. Correction: The reveal of the brother was in the penultimate episode, not the last one.

  23. I want to know what safety net 001 had with the tug of war, because he was at a big disadvantage there. In the last game, why did no one bother to grab the rails on their way down?

  24. The pictures on the wall of the different games I didn’t notice that until the last episode when they were eating their garment meal. I was like those pictures looks like the games they been playing I caught that part. See I was watching this at work so I wasn’t really focused bc I had to keep pausing the show and lost track on some of the parts you explained but it all made sense wow! I binged watched during my 12 hour shift lol

  25. I saw something in The Squid Game that no spoiler video has ever mentioned. Maybe you can help me with this. And if I’m the first to mention it, well, might I win a prize? Anyway, in the take where they all are playing tug-of-war, a bunch go down and die. Well, in one of the loosing groups, where they fall to their death, there is one person that is mangled but still alive. The undercover cop is there putting bodies into the black boxes with the deep pink bows. He sees the mangled body but he/she is still alive, he’s shocked, so a manager or soldier tells him something like “Do your job” . He then puts the mangled but still alive person into a box and as the boxes are about to leave he takes something out of his pocket, – piece of chalk maybe, and draws onto the outside (lower corner/are right side/ bottom) of the box a cross. No one has ever mentioned this in any spoiler/Easter egg type video. I’ve been wondering WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT. Please let me know. Thank you, Ms. Pamela A. A. A.

  26. Can anyone explain to me why the main character borrowed 10000 won from the banker at the end when he has 45 billion won in the bank?
That scene just felt so random. That part didn't make any sense to me. 🤷‍♂️

  27. Il nam’s death got me crying and then I realized that he’s the one behind all of this.

  28. What did the cop say to his brother before he fell to his death and what was the meaning?

  29. I think Gi-hun will be ended up being another "front man". Bcoz front man in this series also a winner in a previous year. He was living a questionable life. As he was also a winner he was also rewarded with a lot of money, but still he lived as poor. He even didn't payed his rents ,but still had lot of money. So is the Gi-hun. He used to live the way he was, didn't spent a luxury life. Like Gi-hun returned to find the truth, current front man may be used to return like that after the game which he participated and ended up being another "front man". Plus, front man and gi-hun also had that card with them somehow..
Sry if my english is wrong

  30. I'm calling it. Season 2 will be childhood games of a different country.

  31. I hope that season 2 focuses on the 2015 games, and that it shows how frontman won and got to be a leader in the whole thing. It would be dope to also see the other games being played like tag you're it or hopscotch. Then a season 3 should be done with the first ever games and the last ever games to show how they started and how eventually they got busted.

  32. One thing I have noticed about movies. If you don't see the character die……chances are they didn't.

  33. You didn't talk about when that salesman was convincing to participate in the game he gives the chance to play ddakji to other people whatever color they choose depends on what role are they playing like if the main character chose red he will be going there as guard and if blue then he will go in the role of a player and also he coloured his hair red in the last episode so maybe he will return as a guard or a Front man because he won in the game

  34. Also Jun ho body was not showed so there is 100.10 percent that he will come back in season 2

  35. Hats off to the people who thought such a spectacular content from their brains . Completely entertaining and mind blowing series.
